07 April 2006 Snowboard summer camp
Travellers looking for a unique blast to start up their summer should grab some backpacker travel insurance and head to Iceland for a summer snowboard camp with 24 hours of daylight.
Based on the Snaefell glacier, the camp is only one of its kind in Iceland and snow-lovers of all standards and abilities can take to the slopes to practise their tricks and maybe learn a few new ones.
That gap year travel insurance could provide the perfect excuse to head north to ski under a pink sky at midnight, make the most of the skate park or slip on a wetsuit and head out into the Atlantic Ocean to try out the surf.
The Iceland Park Project camp, which is now into its fifth year, is based in the west of Iceland, 250km north of Reykjavik and this year's dates run from May 13th to June 10th.
